Food & Drinks in Kanagawa

Kanagawa Prefecture is home to a smorgasbord of popular foods that will have any gourmand reaching for their chopsticks. Just south of Tokyo, Kanagawa is particularly known for its metropolitan area of Yokohama, with the flavors of Chinatown a great example of what can be found with Kanagawa’s food landscape. With foreign trade opening up since 1859, Kanagawa quickly evolved to incorporate international and national food cultures.

Outside of the city, the cornucopia of Kanagawa’s natural environments also helps make the perfect climate for regional agriculture and locally sourced ingredients to flourish.
