Yamato
Situated in the center of Kanagawa Prefecture, Yamato is blessed with lush nature with mountains, rivers and a plethora of parks within the city's geographical boundaries. With stunning views of Mount Fuji, on clear days, Yamato Yutori no Mori Park is well worth a visit for those with children and families looking for fun and plenty of activities. Izumi no Mori is a park with plentiful nature and seasonal blooms such as cherry blossoms and Hikichidai Park with plenty of space to explore the gardens and foliage on offer.
Yamato is also well known for its Yamato Cultural Creation Center SiRiUS, a cultural complex which acts as a library, indoor children's open space and lifelong learning center with locals and visitors from various backgrounds can congregate and share experiences. The center also hosts regular lectures, meetings and conferences of various sizes.
A town rich in history it's no surprise to find the monthly Yamato Station Antique Market which attracts people from far and wide looking for a bargain and the chance to intermingle with locals.
