Ninomiya
Ninomiya is a pleasant village in west-central Kanagawa Prefecture. Resting delicately on Sagami Bay, the town is known for its agriculture and fishing industries which both thrive and attract visitors for the quality of the food and local ingredients. Ninomiya also plays host to the popular Kawawa Shrine which is surrounded by a forest and makes for a very peaceful resting spot when visiting the town. Kawawa Shrine is one of the top cherry blossom-viewing spots in the area and in fall visitors enjoy the dramatic hues of the leaves as they change color.
Due to its abundance of nature, Ninomiya also hosts various parks such as Azumayama Park and the curiously named Radiant Flower Hill Park which has over 20,000 spider lilies in a variety of colors making for a spectacular sight. A tranquil and serene town, Ninomiya isn't too far from central Tokyo and is ideal for day trips or a weekend stay by the sea.
