Mt. Oyama is a sacred mountain from the Jomon period (6,000–300 BCE) located within the Tanzawa Oyama Quasi-National Park, and sits at an altitude of 1,252m. During the Edo period (1603-1867) it was featured in many rakugo (traditional storytelling) and Ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock prints) and in 2016 it was certified as one of Japan's Heritage sites.
