A temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect opened in 1184. The main object of worship is Fudo Myoo. The shrine was relocated from the premises of Shirahata Shrine to its current location during the separation of Shintoism and Buddhism. The mortuary tablet of Minamoto no Yoshitsune is enshrined here (Shirahata Daimyojin is written on the front).
