Kominka Yamaju-tei
Kominka Yamaju-tei was the farmhouse residence of a wealthy Meiji period (1868–1912) farmer. The architecture is very luxurious for a farmhouse, with every element from the enormous gate to the roof built in a rare and exquisite manner. The house has been restored and preserved to authentically portray the lifestyle of the wealthy farmer at the time. In 2009, it was registered as a national tangible cultural asset and opened to the public. In recent years, its magnificent atmosphere has attracted tourists from both Japan and abroad, particularly as a location for cosplay photography. (Special permission is required for cosplay photography.)
