Designated as a tangible cultural property by Atsugi City, Atsugi City Kominka Kishitei is a historic building built in 1891. The main building is a two-story wooden structure with a tiled roof. The wood is of extremely high quality (made with zelkova and pine), and the finishing is exquisite. You can see elaborate designs in every room! It has been expanded and remodeled twice since its construction, making it a very valuable building where you can feel the changes in lifestyles, architectural techniques, and trends of the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods.
