Since the grand opening in 1927 (Showa 2), this hotel has welcomed many distinguished guests from both Japan and abroad as the only classic hotel in the port city of Yokohama. The main building, having retained its original apperance since opening, was designated as a Yokohama City Certified Historic Building and a Modern Industrial Heritage Site, and is now cherished as a landmark in front of Yamashita Park. The classic interior of the main building radiates European charm and elegance, offering a tranquil and inviting space for those who appreciate true fineries. The Tower Wing offers harbor views from every rom, allowing guests to enjoy "Yokohama Time" with a magnificent panorama of Yokohama Port. At The Cafe on the first floor of the main building, signature dishes born at the hotel, such as Seafood Doria, Spaghetti Napolitan, and Pudding à la Mode, are still authentically prepared and served under their original recipies.

Travel tip

Across from Yamashita Park is the historical Hotel New Grand. This was the first western-style hotel in Japan . You will want to visit the café that serves treats using the same recipes from opening day. Try the very tasty rum ball with your tea.
