YOH SHOMEI ART MUSEUM

This is a private museum of picture book artist Shoaki Iha, built on the concept that "the museum itself is a beautiful picture book". The museum exhibits original paintings, watercolors, oil paintings, and drawings from his early works. The wide green meadows, the clear blue sky, and the houses, trees, people, and animals depicted in his paintings....his style of painting, which has been described as "painting the air," has attracted the support of many people and continues to bring a breeze to the hearts of viewers, making them feel gentle and kind. The museum exhibits about 80 of those original artworks at all times, and visitors can view them six times a year in the permanent exhibition room on the first floor and seasonal works in each of the rooms on the second floor. In the garden, white hydrangeas and roses bloom seasonally, inviting visitors to enter the world of picture books. We hope that through the many beautiful original pictures and words, visitors will be able to heal their tired minds and enjoy a moment of peace and relaxation.
