The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) has designated this site as one of the "100 Post-Tanada Rice Terraces," through an initiative to recognize outstanding terraced rice paddies. Local farmers and NPOs alike work together to maintain and preserve the terraced rice paddies, in aim to preserve the rich biodiversity of the original rural landscape for future generations, utilizing agricultural experience exchange programs with urban residents.

Essential Information

Access From Hadano Station on the Odakyu Line, take the Hata 25 bus bound for Soya Kobo (about 8 minutes), get off at the Mitake Shrine Entrance stop, and walk for about 12 minutes. Alternatively, take the Hata 20 bus bound for Minoge (about 8 minutes), get off at the Ueharadai stop, and walk for about 15 minutes.
