Located in Zaimokuza, Kamakura, this shrine is also known as Moto-Hachiman, as it is actually the original Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine (sitting on the spot where it was originally built). In 1036, Minamoto-no-Yoriyoshi secretly transferred the tutelary deity of Kyoto's Iwashimizu Hachiman shrine here.
