Shimazaki Toson Yukari no Yado Nakadanaso

Founded in 1888, the hot spring inn "Itoya, an inn associated with Toson Shimazaki" was originally built to entertain the chief chamberlain to the Emperor Meiji. However, it was deeply associated with literary masters and, as the name suggests, was a favorite of many literary figures, including Toson Shimazaki. Although it has been remodeled, the wooden ryokan, which still retains the appearance of those days, offers a sense of Japanese style. Part of the building (Rooms 51 and 52 and part of the main building) is also registered as a Tangible Cultural Property.
