Sagamiko Illumillion is Kanto's largest illumination event with 6 million shining orbs. It is also certified as one of the three major illuminations in the Kanto region.

Travel tip

For a memorable and less rushed experience stay overnight at the Paddington Bear Campground, which is located on Sagamiko Resort Pleasure Forest grounds. This facility is filled with quaint cabins and a nearby barbeque area where you can cook and purchase ingredients on-site.

Marvel at a festival of lights at Sagamiko Illumillion. As one of the largest illumination events in Kanto, this Kanagawa-based illumination is held in Sagamiko Resort Pleasure Forest—an outdoor resort with activities like camping, BBQ, hot springs, and an amusement park that canvases a 40-000 square-meter area.

The Sagamiko Illumillion is certified as one of Kanto’s top three illumination events and can be enjoyed during the day or at night with both times of day offering different experiences. Displayed annually from November to the beginning of April, the Sagamiko Illumillion is famous and beloved by visitors of all ages.

The Illumillion uses approximately six million LED lights and stretches over the entire park to light up those chilly nights. The illumination begins at 5 pm, after sunset, and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

According to locals, the best places to see the light-up are on the ground near the Ferris wheel or from a booth on the Ferris wheel itself. Watch the twinkling lights as you ascend into the stars at 370 meters up. The Castle of Light display is another main attraction for the illumination; this installation of an intricately designed castle will enchant anyone, and lights up to the rhythm of music played nearby. Visit the Tunnel of Light or the Niagara Falls, which both create rivers of light that can be enjoyed with family, friends, or a special someone. The Sea of Light will take your breath away with its expansive ocean of lights and small illuminated fish that seem to glide over the rolling waves of the landscape.

While you wait for illumination to light up, there are many other great places to visit and see in the park. You will love whiling away the time on a merry-go-round, the Ferris wheel, bumper cars and more. There’s even an on-grounds hot spring to warm you up before the lights.

It’s good fun and relaxing for everyone. And with the theme of the lights’ main interactive attractions being changed annually, you’ll never become tired of the scenery. From popular anime characters like Pokémon to the more subtle display of a fountain of lights—there is something to charm a visitor of any age and warm you from the heart.
