Ooka River Promenade

The 5km promenade along the Ooka River is planted with approximately 500 cherry trees in Minami Ward alone (700 if Naka Ward is included), and is famous as one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Yokohama City. Every year, when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, the entire town is lit up with Bonbori lanterns and the whole area comes alive. In addition, the "Yokohama Gumyoji Shopping Street" located halfway along the promenade is lined with famous stores and is crowded with many people.
Ooka River Promenade at night
In the evening, approximately 2,500 lanterns brilliantly illuminate the 3.5km-long Ookagawa promenade lined with fully-blooming cherry trees.
