Omotetanzawa Kenmin no Mori

Omotetanzawa Kenmin no Mori

Hadano
In order to create a place for interaction and activities within the forest, and to familiarize prefectural residents with nature just as it comes, Kanagawa Prefecture has established four "Prefectural Forests" within its protected forests, one of which is Omote-Tanzawa Kenmin-no-Mori Park. It is located along the forest walking path that runs along the Shijuhasse River up to Omotanzawa and on to Kurinokido (elevation 908 m). The forest itself is comprised of man-made woodlands of Japanese cedar and cypress, broad-leaved forests of mizuki, shidai, and other trees, as well as an azumaya (a Japanese gazebo), spacious lawn plaza, and toilets. Nearby is also Kokuryu Falls, featuring a 15-meter drop along the Shijuhasse River.
