Since its establishment in 1919, Okura pottery continues to make porcelain of high artistic value as the premier western kitchen maker in Japan. Products of Ookura pottery were admired with words such as "blue of Sable, white of Okura". "Whiteness, hardness of the porcelain, smooth as skin" can not be copied by others, so it is said to be the finest western style dishes in Japan and has a high reputation.
