It is said that Hojo Masako, who was a wife of Minamoto no Yoritomo, created the land by reclaiming the sea surrounding Seto Shrine and founded the Biwajima Benzaiten. The shrine is dedicated to Benzaiten (the Goddess of Wloquence, Music, and Art), one of the Yokohama Kanazawa Seven Deities of Good Fortune. It is secretly gaining popularity as a coastline viewing spot.
