Kawasaki Daishi Heiken-ji Temple

Kawasaki Daishi Heiken-ji Temple

Kawasaki

About

One of Japan's most renowned temples, attracting visitors from all across the country during New Year's. It is also commonly known as "Yakuyoke No Odaishi-sama" (the Great Master for Warding Off Misfortune), and daily goma prayers are performed in the main hall to pray for the fulfillment of devotees' prayers. Visitors are allowed from early morning, so we encourage guests to visit during the less crowded morning hours. Be sure to explore the Nakamise Shopping Street after your visit!

Kawasaki Daishi Heiken-ji Temple in the morning

You can visit the shrine from early in the morning; this is also the time when it is less crowded. The Nakamise (street market) is also a fun place to walk around after visiting the shrine.
