Kawasaki Daishi (Nakamise street)
Nakamise is a shopping street which extends for about 150 meters from the main gate of the Heiken-ji temple. Tankiri candy is also called Tontoko candy or Sarashi...
Tankiri candy (sarashi candy) of Kawasakidai became very popular because of its old-style taste and the rhythmical sound which comes out during the process of cutting the candy in pieces. There are as many as six candy stores along the Nakamise of Kawasakidai which stretches for about 150 meters in front of the temple. After walking along the Nakamise and watching the candy making performance in Nakamise, grilled beef is waiting for you in Korea Town in Kawasaki.
