Featuring a striking, symmetrical exterior and an open, atrium-style Grand Gallery, the museum boasts nine exhibition rooms, a diverse workshop studio, and an art library with approximately 240,000 volumes. As an art museum benefitting the international port city of Yokohama, it comprehensively covers modern and contemporary art since the port's opening, presenting thematic collection exhibitions drawn from a collection of over 15,000 works (as of March 2025), as well as hosting diverse special exhibitions.
