Built in the 42nd year of the Meiji period (1909), the Yamate Museum is the only remaining wooden Western-style house in Yokohama that is both Japanese and Western. The exhibits in the museum are all valuable historical documents that tell the story of the culture and customs of Yokohama since the opening of the port.
