Noukendou is the name of the Grendensan Jizoin Temple, which was rebuilt by Hiroyuki Kuze Yamatomori, who was a lord between 1661 and 1973. It is said that the eight scenic views of Kanazawa began during the Genroku era (1688-1704), when Zen monk Shinetsu, who came to Japan from China, composed a Chinese poem in memory of the scenery of his hometown and the eight scenic spots of Kanazawa as seen from here.
