Oiso

This is the spot where the scenery from the woodblock print "Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido: Ooiso Toraga-ame" by Utagawa Hiroshige the First is said to have been viewed. In this masterpiece, the Tokaido Road is lined with pine trees in the rain; it was drawn to depict the tears of a broken-hearted woman, Tora, who longed for her dead lover.
