Kawasaki Harbor Underwater Tunnel

Kawasaki Harbor Underwater Tunnel

The walkable section of this 3-meter-wide and 2180-meter-long tunnel was opened to the public in 2004, and it is Japan’s longest walkable undersea tunnel. A 15-minute walk connects Chidori Park and Higashi-ojima. The tunnel contains automatic doors that regulate its internal pressure, preventing exhaust fumes from leaking in.
