Isezaki Mall has been much loved for its long promenade along the port since it first opened. You can almost feel the atmosphere of Meiji era modernization, where long-established Meiji and Taisho shops line the street. Isezaki supports many artists who originated in the area like folk-rock duo Yuzu and enka singer Mina Aoe with her famous song 'Isezaki Blues'. Isezaki Mall hosts the multipurpose event space 'Cross Street', to maintain its musical heritage.
With its entrance near Kannai Station, this mile-long pedestrian shopping street is an authentic Japanese experience, all the more charming for not being touristy. Pick up some souvenirs, sit outside a cafe people watching, or take a side street for some tasty Korean food.
