Hakone Miyanoshita Shopping Association

In the shopping district which takes advantage of the characteristics of the retro hot spring area, and which tends to be a point of passage despite being in the center of Hakone, initiatives are being carried out under the theme of “town revitalization with strolling around at the core”, including events such as “Strolling in Miyanoshita”, in which members of the shopping district act as guides, “Sepia Collection”, and “Reading Room in the Forest”. Established in the same year as the Fujiya Hotel, the Shima photo studio is a very well-established store which is celebrating its 136th year. Photographs, including one of Charlie Chaplin’s face without makeup and one of Helen Keller, are displayed in the shop window.
