About
"Fujisawa Ukiyo-e Museum" in Fujisawa City is a facility where you can appreciate local history, such as the Tokaido Fujisawa-juku and Enoshima Ukiyo-e. Ukiyo-e prints and local materials are displayed in different format for each exhibition. During the Edo period, Fujisawa was home to the Tokaido Fujisawa-juku, as well as the Jishu sect's head temple, Shojoko-ji Temple, a place which marks the entrance to the pilgrimage route to Enoshima and Oyama. Many Ukiyo-e prints and famous legends were born here.Travel tip
This museum features paintings using a unique art form known as ukiyo-e, or pictures made using woodblock plates. There is even a workshop where you can make your very own ink print.
