Map of British Antique Museum BAM Kamakura

BAM Kamakura, the British Museum of Antiques, is a museum that conveys the world of antiques to the next generation and helps people experience the wonderfulness and importance of passing on things. The museum exhibits Director Masaomi Dobashi's collection of British antiques, arranged by time period, that boast a history of more than 100 years. “Sherlock Holmes' Room” has been recreated using authentic antiques from the Victorian era, giving visitors a rare glimpse at first edition books, fireplaces, chairs, violins, and even medicine bottles, all of which are precious antiques closely associated with Holmes. Each item is authentic and was actually used by people at the time, so you can enjoy the world of the Victorian era in a realistic way. In addition, vintage London taxis and telephone booths are also on display on the ground floor. The architecture was designed by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, featuring a facade with a symbolic Kamakura carving motif.
