About

Kamakura Kaburagi Kiyokata Memorial Museum was built on the site of the former residence of Kiyokata Kaburagi, a master of modern Japanese painting, in Yukinoshita, Kamakura, the place of his death. The Japanese-style building stands neatly in a quiet residential area in the ancient capital of Kamakura. Exhibitions are held eight times a year, displaying a variety of diffrerent works.

Travel tip

Escape the crowds at this charming museum, the former house and studio of noted artist Kaburaki Kiyokata. His traditionally-styled paintings of graceful kimono-clad women give an enjoyable insight into a bygone age.
